The Badge Sheet Layout the way badges are printed on a 8.5" * 11" sheet of plain paper. Defined by the user from the Utilities menu. will determine how the badges will be printed on standard Letter size paper (8.5" * 11"). You can have as many layouts as you wish, although one is usually sufficient.
Follow the procedure below to define a Badge Sheet Layout.
From the Badge Sheet Layouts screen, select ADD to make a new layout or EDIT to modify an existing layout.
In the Create Badge Layout screen...
Enter a Code for the Badge Layout ('01' in the case above).
Select Landscape or Portrait.
Select 'Cut Lines' if you want the cutting lines printed on the badge. Makes it easier to cut them out once they are printed.
Select the number of columns and rows per sheet. For example, if your badges are single sided, landscape style (see Employee Badge Layouts), set the number of columns to '2' and the number of rows to '4' (these settings allow for the margins).
Vertical/Horizontal Offset ... Enter 0.25 (1/4") for each. You can change this to suit your needs.
Horizontal/Vertical distance from the edge of the sheet ... Leave default value of '0' or enter a value of your choice.
Horizontal/Vertical distance between Badges ... Enter a value of 0.25 (1/4"), this will leave a gap between the badges for easier cutting.
Existing Badge Width .. Enter 3.25 (3 1/4") for the Width. This is usually the standard size (Credit Card size).
Existing Badge Height ... Enter 2.0 (2") for the Height. This is usually the standard size (Credit Card size).
Click OK to save the Badge Layout you have just created.
Each of the sizes entered above is entirely up to the user. The values in this example are typical of how a badge sheet layout would be set up.
To see an example of how the badges would look, go to Reports->Employee Information->Employee Badges. Select a group of employees, then choose an employee badge layout This is the way each badge will look when printed. Defined by the user in Utilities. It can include any combination of titles, fields etc. and a badge sheet layout. Click the PREVIEW button.
If the badge does not look correct on the Preview, go into the Employee Badge Layout or Badge Sheet Layout and make the necessary adjustments.
