The employee badge layout This is the way each badge will look when printed. Defined by the user in Utilities. It can include any combination of titles, fields etc. is where you will define what the Employee Badges will look like when they are printed. This is a very flexible feature, allowing employee pictures, company logo's, employee standard information, user-defined fields, as well as a variety of colors.
Follow the procedure below to setup and print employee badges.
From the Badge Layout window, select ADD to make a new badge layout or click EDIT to modify an existing badge layout.

The Badge Layout is divided into four areas, General, Main, Text & Images.
General Tab
Enter a Layout Code. This code will be one of the choices to use when printing employee badges. See Printing Employee Badges.
Enter your Company/Organization name. This is optional, if you do not want the company name on the badge, leave this box blank.
Choose the Alignment for the company name (Left, Right, Center or None)
Select the Font type, size, color, and rotation by double clicking the appropriate boxes and selecting from the drop-down boxes. Choose Bold, Underline, Italic, Strikethrough by checking the appropriate box.
Select the Employee Name Format. This is how the employee's name will be displayed and printed on the badge. Report Name is how the employee name was entered in the employee's profile.
If employee photos are to be printed on the badge, check the box labeled 'Emp Picture'. Adjust the Height, Width and/or Ration by clicking the arrow buttons. Check 'Border' if you want a border around the picture. If you want 'No Picture' to appear on the badge when no photo is available, check 'No Picture', otherwise there will just be a blank space where the photo is supposed to be located.
To make a double sided badge, check off the box labeled 'Two Sided'.
If you are going to be using badge sleeve covers with a strip covering the barcode, check the box labeled 'Masked'. This will force the barcode to line up with the strip on the sleeve.
Choose the badge format, either Landscape or Portrait.
Select the Badge Background color (Default is white).
The Badge Width and Badge Height are fixed and grayed out (For future use).
Main Tab
This is where you will define which employee fields to display and print on the badge. Their are nine fields to chose from. For each of the fields, there are various settings such as font type, color, size etc. Scroll to the right to see all of the choices.
Enable a field by double-clicking the field in the 'Used' column. The box will change from to
Changing the Font, Font Size, Font Color or Field Format ... double click in the box you want to change and select from the drop-down list box. To make the Fonts appear bold, underlined, italicized or strikethrough, double click the appropriate box (as in the 'Used' column).
NOTE : For the field 'Badge Bar', make sure the font chosen is code39OneInch-Reg and that the font size is 45
For the Field format, there are several choices: Code, Value, Field or any combination of the three.
Code : This is the code entered for the element. For example, if 'D730' was the code entered for a shift 07:30am to 04:00pm, then 'D730' would be displayed on the badge.
Value : This is equivalent to the 'Description' entered for the element. For example, if the description entered for the shift 'D730' was '07:30am to 04:00pm' ... '07:30am to 04:00pm' is what would be displayed on the badge.
Field : This is the Field Label as it appears under the elements column. This is used in combination with either the Code or the Value or both.
Text Tab
To add text to the badge, click the ADD button and enter the text to be displayed on the badge ...
Click the OK button to accept the entry.
If you wish to display the entered text on the badge, enable the field by double clicking the to change it to . In the example above, 'My Feet Stink!!!' would appear as an available Text field.
Images Tab
If a company logo or some other image (such as a Red Cross for First Aid attendant) is to be displayed on the badge, click the ADD button and specify the location of the image.
Make the appropriate adjustments to the size and location of the image.
