The Data path is the location on the hard drive or server where all of the 'live' or 'active' data is stored. Once this path is established, there is no reason to change it unless the data is going to be moved to another hard drive or the server is being changed.
Follow the procedure below to set the data path.
Select the hard drive where the data is located.
Select the Path on the hard drive where the data is located. (Double click the drive letter, then double click on the folders until you locate the 'live' data folder.
As you are selecting the path, the box labeled 'Current Data Path' will update and display the path as you choose it.
In the window labeled Missing Files, the message 'All needed files present' will appear when the path chosen has all the correct files for ETP to run. If there are missing files, it is most likely because you do not have the full path selected or you have chosen a path in which all or some of the files are missing. Contact your Network Administrator or Advanced Tracker Technologies for further assistance.
To Map a Network Drive, choose the drive from Windows Explorer or the Network Neighborhood. Right click on the drive you wish to map (the drive with the data usually) and choose Map Network Drive. Select a letter for the drive and click OK. You will now be able to choose this drive when setting the data path. For further assistance, contact your Network Administrator.
If you are just installing ETP and do not have any pre-filled databases, choose 'Allow creation of blank databases on "invalid" data path' from the Options menu.
